The Rotary Club of Chatswood Sunrise celebrated its 30th birthday on Sunday, 11th October. The Club's first President, Dr Warwick Bateman, AM was the guest of honour and the Club donated a bench/seat set to Chatswood High School in his honour.

Local member and NSW Treasurer, Gladys Berejiklian and Honorary Member, Mayor Gail Giles-Gidney, joined in the birthday spirit along with former and current members. The school Jazz Ensemble provided background music as well as "Happy Birthday" which was sung enthusiastically by everyone. Students also helped out in "Cafe Chattie" as baristas and serving the cake and coffee. Chatswood Sunrise is the boutique (never "smallest") of the three Rotary Clubs in Willoughby.

The school site was chosen as the venue because of its historical link with Dr Bateman's ancestor, Isaac Nichols. The border between Nichols' two land grants of 1805 and 1810 runs through the school's oval!
